ELEMENTS OF ART AND PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN
The elements of art and principles of design are important for several reasons. First, and most importantly, a person can't create art without utilizing at least a few of them. Secondly, knowing what the elements of art are enables us to: describe what an artist has done; analyze what is going on in a particular piece and to communicate our thoughts and findings using a common language

ASSIGNMENT: ART INQUIRY FINAL
•Choose a medium(s) you wish to use in your artwork. Push your thinking, extend your learning research how to use it differently than what you have done before. You can work 2D or 3D! 2D work should be larger than 11X17 (paper, canvas, cardboard, wood, etc.) and 3D work should be larger thank 10” in any direction.
•Research artist(s) who will inspire your project or who use the same medium(s) you are interested in. Find out how they use the material, how they portray important messages through their art.
•Ask critical questions about the artist to deepen your understanding of your purpose for creating your artwork.
•Use the elements and principles of design intentionally to create meaningful art to you. Describe your process, why you choose the theme, artist(s), medium(s), and techniques to create your artwork. (what is the message theme, technique, medium, process etc).
