The Arts and Culture Club is organizing a 5-day tour of New York with EF Tours. The tour is fast paced and covers major attractions in New York City. The program fee includes round-trip airfare, ground transportation, hotels, breakfast, and dinner daily, sightseeing tours led by licensed local guides, Broadway show, entrance to special attractions and gratuities. Students are expected to buy their own lunches.
This trip is a great educational opportunity for students to develop independence and citizenship in a different culture, as well as develop personal and social responsibility. Students will also be able to get a concrete visual of the history of New York City and its amazing heritage. Students will be able to see wonders and architecture they’ve seen only in dreams, such as Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, the Metropolitan Museum and so much more. From Times Square to Greenwich Village, New York City is bursting with life. Get into the action and focus on what the Big Apple does best: culture. Visit the famous Radio City Music Hall and attend a Broadway show. View the city from atop the Empire State Building. Take the ferry to Ellis Island and marvel at the Statue of Liberty. Get ready for your close-up with a theatre workshop.
New York is the most populous city in the United States and the center of the New York Metropolitan Area, one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world. New York exerts a significant impact upon global commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural capital of the world. Many districts and landmarks in New York City have become well known to its approximately 50 million annual visitors.
Ecole Salish Secondary Fine Arts department believe that this trip will provide students with an incredible learning experience of Fine Arts history and contemporary culture outside of the classroom. I know I am really looking forward to this wonderful experience.
***Students need to see Ms. Trujillo (RM 112) to pick up a registration request form for parents/guardians to sign. Registration information will be send out once approval has been given by the Superintendents Office at the Surrey School Board.
